Bill Collectors! Grrrrrrr!

Right now, as a broke person with no income and no savings and no nothing, bill collectors are driving me crazy. How about you?

By the way, WHERE'S MY BAILOUT?

I make a point of not talking to them on the phone, requesting they not call. One reason is I am well aware of my position and my responsibilities, plus the calls bother my folks, who are offering temporary refuge. You don't have to take those calls, you know.

The second, and main, reason is I tried to work with these folks in the past. In one case, Citibank took advantage of my desire to be cooperative and took almost $500.00 out of my account without permission (something our current administration and banking laws do not consider a crime, by the way). The only way to stop them was to close the account and pay considerable fees. So, from now on they deal with me in writing or not at all.

The Call from Ms. Barley

I had explained this to a United Collection Bureau agent before receiving a call from Ms. Barley. This is a prime example of why I do not deal with these people over the phone. Not only is she demeaning, condescending and rude, she has it all wrong. Her minion got it wrong. I never said what she claims I said, and I have told Citibank and UCB ad nauseum that they are constantly in my thoughts and, as soon as I have money, they will have money. Not take it seriously?

I think they only hear what they want to hear. If you do not give them money, they want answers, but those answers never are written down or passed along. If they are, they seldom seem to surface with any substance or even vaguely correct.
